Create And Share Dynamic Video Diptychs With Peak Systems' Diptic Video

November 29, 2013
The team behind Diptic is at it again. After developing not one, but two Diptic iOS apps for photo, Peak Systems has now set its sights on video with the release of Diptic Video. Just a couple of months ago, Peak Systems launched Diptic PDQ as essentially the iOS 7-optimized edition of the original Diptic app, which was released back in 2010. More than being built for iOS 7, Diptic PDQ was also built for speed and convenience, as suggested by the "PDQ" in its name, which stands for "Pretty Dang Quick." As for Diptic Video, it's pretty much Diptic PDQ adapted for video. As such, it lets you easily create and share video collages by combining up to four video clips or photos in one of its 35 supported layouts. Diptic Video also supports various editing functions and features four playback modes: Forward (default), Forward + Reverse, Reverse, and Reverse + Forward. Peak Systems explains:
  • When Forward playback is combined with Loop, your video play from start > finish > repeat cycle.
  • Forward + Reverse plays from start to finish and then rewinds when the forward playback stops. Combine it with Loop to play from start > finish > rewind to start > finish > repeat cycle.
  • Reverse playback plays videos in reverse (as you probably guessed), making your videos play from finish to start. Combine it with Loop to play finish > start > repeat cycle.
  • Reverse + Forward plays in reverse from finish to start and then rewinds when the reverse playback stops. Combine it with Loop to play from finish > start > rewind to finish > repeat cycle.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Diptic Video is available now in the App Store for $1.99. Diptic and Diptic PDQ are, of course, still available in the App Store for $0.99 each.
