Bee prepared to do the “waggle dance” on a much bigger screen, because Disco Bees has just arrived on the iPad.

Just over a month after its debut on iOS as a game optimized for iPhone and iPod touch, the bee-dazzling match-three game has already been optimized for iPad and iPad mini as well. And boy, does it look bee-autiful on a Retina iPad.

Now, you might be wondering about the bee puns that have so far infested this post. In my defense, there are actually bee puns aplenty in Disco Bees, as noted by my colleague Christine in her “hidden gem” review of the game here on AppAdvice.

“If you’re looking for a delightful match-three game to play, then you definitely can’t miss out on Disco Bees,” the review concludes. “Just don’t mind the bee puns, which are quite abundant.”

Disco Bees

Well, you can expect to encounter many more bee puns in the new universal version of Disco Bees, which also includes a couple of new level packs or “hives.” There’s the new Beekeeper’s Hive and the new Space Zombees on Mars.

Disco Bees has also been updated to unlock the next hive when all levels of a hive have been cleared with three stars. What’s more, it has been updated to make the bees shake their bee-hinds during their waggle dance at the end of each cleared level.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, the new universal version of Disco Bees is available now in the App Store for free.

Disco Bees is developed by Space Inch, the same studio that co-created (with OK Go) the fun guessing game Say The Same Thing, which notably became the 50 billionth downloaded app in the App Store last May.
