If you’re looking for an alternative to Instagram now that the photo sharing social network has begun to feature advertisements, definitely download EyeEm.
Once only for the iPhone/iPod touch, the app has just been updated to go universal and provide support for the iPad/iPad mini as well. An exclusive feature of the iPad version is the new slideshow mode that allows users to browse any album on the full screen of the tablet.
Here’s a quick video that shows off the iPad version. Click here if you can’t see it.
It’s not a big surprise, but EyeEm is definitely built around photography. Users can take photos with 17 real-time filters and share them on EyeEm and other social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.
As you continue to use EyeEm, the app is designed to populate a feed with images you’ll find interesting and unique.
Now a universal app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, EyeEm can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
I’ve never used EyeEm before, but after getting to try out the app for a bit, I’m intrigued. I found some stunning images, and the slideshow feature looks spectacular on my new iPad Air.
