Yahoo Weather Goes Universal: Flickr-Enhanced Forecasts Now Optimized For iPad

December 16, 2013
Yahoo Weather has just been updated with universal support. As a result, the acclaimed weather app has been optimized for iPad and iPad mini in addition to iPhone and iPod touch. Yahoo Weather is, of course, the official mobile weather app of Yahoo. It was released by the Internet giant alongside the universal version of Yahoo Mail eight months ago. Originally, Yahoo Weather was natively compatible with iPhone and iPod touch only. But thanks to its latest update, it's now natively compatible with iPad and iPad mini as well. Of course, Yahoo Weather for iPad also features the design and Flickr-enhanced forecasts that you've come to love in Yahoo Weather for iPhone. Except you can now enjoy them on a larger screen, whether in portrait or landscape mode. What's more, Yahoo Weather for iPad features gorgeous interactive animations as you scroll through the forecast. In addition to universal support for iPad, the latest update to Yahoo Weather adds support for sharing the weather. Now, you can share a screenshot of the forecast via Mail, Messages, Facebook, or Twitter. You can do so by selecting "Share" in the sidebar on iPhone or by selecting the share icon on the home screen or "Share" in the sidebar on iPad. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the new universal version of Yahoo Weather is available now in the App Store for free. For more information on Yahoo Weather, check out our original review of the app here on AppAdvice, which notes: "There may be a slew of weather apps in the App Store, but there’s always room for an app that provides a clean, easy-to-use experience with fantastic visuals, and Yahoo Weather does just that."
