Pebble's New Smart Watches To Feature Metal And Gorilla Glass

Later today, Jan. 6, Pebble is expected to announce new versions of the company's popular smart watch. The Pebble Steel will feature “the exact same innards as the existing Pebble watch but with a stainless steel casing and Gorilla Glass,” according to 9to5Mac. The updated watch is expected to come in a choice of metal and leather straps, launch before the end of the month, and be priced at around $240. This would be $90 more than the current plastic model, which is available in a choice of five colors. Earlier this month, Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky confirmed online that he would be announcing “something special” at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). His keynote is set to begin at 11 a.m. PST. As Joe White noted at the time:
