Rovio Updates Angry Birds Star Wars II With 8 New Playable Characters
Rovio has just updated Angry Birds Star Wars II with a group of new playable characters. The latest update to the galactic physics-based puzzle game summons you to melt the frozen Carbonite Pack in order to get eight new playable characters from the "Star Wars" saga. In this group, six are classic characters and the remaining two are bonus ones. The classic set features Carbonite Han Solo, Jabba the Hutt, Wicket the Ewok, Lando Bird, Royal Crimson Guard, and Tusken Raider. And the bonus pair comprises the red Clone Trooper and Jedi Knight Kit Fisto. You can actually try out all of the new characters, then earn or purchase them. Better yet, you can unlock them for permanent inclusion in your collection by teleporting them into the game using their corresponding Telepods toy figures. The new version of Angry Birds Star Wars II is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $0.99 download. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 4.3 or later. The game received its last major update a couple of months ago, thereby gaining a new Battle of Naboo chapter featuring 20 new Bird Side levels, 20 new Pork Side levels, four secret levels, and three new free characters. Angry Birds Star Wars II is, of course, the sequel to the first Angry Birds Star Wars game, which was updated with its final battle against the Pig Empire last December.
