Walmart Drops The Price On The iPad 2, Adds Incentives For Phone Upgrades

February 6, 2014
Are you looking for a fancy new iPad that just so happens to have a nice coat of dust on the box? You’re in luck. Walmart has sliced $100 off the price of the iPad 2, that wonderful piece of hardware that offers 3-year-old technology, yet Apple still sells at full price. Walmart is now selling the 16GB iPad 2 for $299. The $100 discount comes in the form of an electronic $100 Walmart gift card, which can be used in stores or at walmart.com. (Our advice: Skip the iPad 2, and get a first-generation iPad mini for the same price.) The largest retailer in the United States is also running a special promotion on smartphone trade-ins. For a limited time, they will give you at least $100 for any working smartphone when you upgrade via a two-year agreement with AT&T or Verizon. This deal is good when upgrading to any of the following devices:
  • Apple iPhone 5S 16GB
  • Apple iPhone 5C 16 GB
  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • Samsung Galaxy Mega
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3
To see how much your old device is worth, be sure to visit Walmart's Trade-in Promotion page. Via: CNET
