Update For evasi0n7 Fixes An Annoying Problem With Cydia

March 2, 2014

The evad3rs (@evad3rs) published a useful update for evasi0n7 this weekend, fixing a problem concerning package lists in the Cydia app. Before, certain users had found that Cydia was unable to update package lists, but this has been corrected as of evasi0n7 1.0.7.

It might be you haven't been encountering this problem, and if so, evasi0n7 1.0.7 obviously isn't going to be of use (and there'll be no reason for you to re-jailbreak your iOS device). If, on the other hand, you found that package lists haven't been updating in the Cydia app as they should, this release is for you.

The evad3rs added: "A quick way to check if you're affected: search for a recently-released package (like SSLPatch) in Cydia. If you can find it, you're good."

The change comes not long after the evad3rs launched another more major update for evasi0n7 adding support for iOS 7.0.6. As a reminder, Apple released the iOS software update in order to fix a controversial SSL exploit; iOS 6.1.6 also reached users in order bring a fix for iOS 6-powered devices, and a similar update for the p0sixspwn jailbreak tool also surfaced online soon after.

You can download evasi0n7 1.0.7 from the evad3rs' website, and as before it's compatible with iOS devices running iOS 7.0 to iOS 7.0.6.
