Cydia Tweak: How To Set Your Wallpaper To Auto-Change With Each Unlock

May 20, 2014

Mastermind developer Ryan Petrich (@rpetrich) is out with a new jailbreak tweak on his beta repository called WallCycler. The smart package, which can be downloaded free of charge, allows jailbreakers to have their iPhone display a new wallpaper each time the handset is unlocked.

Clever, right? For all the iPhoneographers out there who have a Photos app full to the brim with iPhone-captured photographs, WallCycler provides a great way to view your various snaps throughout the day.

Once installed, WallCycler prompts jailbreakers to select an album from inside the “Wallpapers & Brightness” section of the built-in Settings application. Here, users can indeed pick one of the albums in their Photos app to use with WallCycler, and once selected, the jailbreak tweak will set a new wallpaper each time your iPhone is unlocked. It's as simple as that.

For more advanced users, Petrich has also built Activator support into WallCycler, meanig you can manually switch the wallpaper with a preconfigured Activator action. You'll of course need to have downloaded and installed Petrich's free Activator app in order to take advantage of this feature, however.

As mentioned, WallCycler can be downloaded now on the Cydia Store, and it's available from Ryan Petrich's beta repository. The address, which you'll need to have added to your list of “Sources” in the Cydia app, is:
