A Misfit Activity Tracking App Is Now Available For The Pebble Smart Watch

June 24, 2014
In an interesting new partnership, a fitness tracking app from Misfit Wearables is now available for the popular Pebble smart watch. While there are a handful of other watch apps that track activity, the new app is unique because users won’t need any separate hardware to see their daily progress. Back in 2013, Misfit’s Shine activity tracker hit the market to some overall positive reviews, including here at AppAdvice. The companion Shine app will soon be updated to support Pebble watches and track other information like calories burned and distance traveled. To install the Misfit Shine app on your Pebble, you will need to have the companion Pebble iPhone app running on your iOS device. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Both companies said that today’s news was the beginning of a long-term partnership. And with Apple’s long-rumored ‘iWatch’ looming on the horizon, it seems that smaller companies are smartly partnering up before that device hits the market. If you don't have a Pebble, there are two models to select from. The original version is available for $150 while the upgraded Pebble Steel is $100 more. Both watches can be ordered now from Pebble's site.
