The Exact Location Of Apple's Upcoming Massachusetts Store Has Been Discovered

June 17, 2014
Apple has been on a hiring spree for an upcoming store located in Marlborough, Massachusetts, however thanks to a recently-leaked document we now know exactly where the upcoming venue is going to be located. The news comes from ifoAppleStore, which notes that a tipster has confirmed that the new Massachusetts Apple Retail Store will open in the Solomon Pond Mall. "The Simon-operated mall is adjacent to I-290 about 30 miles west of Boston, a site the company claims is the second-largest metro trade area in the state," ifoAppleStore explains. The website also provides an updated lease plan for the Solomon Pond Mall (above), which shows a T-shaped space reserved for Cupertino's upcoming store. The venue should be around 7,400 square feet in size, and based on hiring schedules "the store could open by the year's end," the publication adds. Once launched, the new Marlborough store will be Apple's 11th retail venue in the state. The above news comes as Angela Ahrendts, Apple's senior vice president of Retail, is reportedly embarking on a major restructuring of Cupertino's retail efforts. In an article published earlier today, we explained:
Since her official appointment last May 1, Ahrendts has already moved several retail executives to other roles to streamline operations. She has also shared her plans in favor of a revamped end-to-end Apple store sales experience, Apple’s foray into mobile payments, and a greater emphasis on the Chinese market.
This "greater emphasis" on China will see Apple's retail presence triple in the country over the course of the coming years. It's definitely shaping up to be an interesting time for Apple Retail. We'll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
