True Skate Gets Its Anticipated Update Bringing New DLC, Goes Free For A Limited Time

June 26, 2014

We told you it was incoming, and now True Skatethe popular skateboarding simulation game – has received its 1.3.0 update bringing new downloadable content (DLC) and additional options. Best of all, True Skate can indeed be downloaded free of charge on the App Store for a limited time in celebration of today’s update.

As we explained yesterday, developer True Axis announced that True Skate would be partnering with Street League Skateboarding (SLS) and that the app’s 1.3.0 update would add a new course based on the 2013 SLS Kansas City competition.

Though this course must be unlocked for a $0.99 in-app purchase (IAP), True Axis also confirmed that True Skate would be losing its usual $1.99 price tag for a limited time in celebration of the SLS partnership.

Now, True Skate 1.3.0 is available to download on the App Store, and a number of further improvements have been made to the application. As outlined in the app’s release notes, these include:

  • New course - Street League Skateboarding - World Tour 2013 - Kansas City
  • New look icon, logo and skateboard
  • Wheel color customization
  • Option to disable crash cam
  • Crash cam made more forgiving if you land straight
  • Flip trick physics adjustments

Performance improvements and a series of bug fixes have also reached the application.

Given that True Skate can be downloaded free of charge, there’s never been a better time to take the skateboarding sim for a spin. It’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Do be aware, however, that the app includes a selection of IAPs which unlock additional courses in the game.
