Twitter Kicks Off New World Cup And Match Timelines In Official iOS App

June 13, 2014
Several days ago, Twitter updated its official iOS app to enable users to search for #WorldCup for the latest news about the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Now, it has updated Twitter for iOS with support for World Cup timelines. First and foremost, there's the comprehensive World Cup timeline, which lets you view tweets related to the sporting event from teams, players, coaches, press members, celebrities, and fans in the stadiums. You can even pick your team to unlock custom profile images, header photos, and real-time scores and highlights. There's also the new match timeline, which shows tweets about specific matches as they happen and helps keep you updated on the latest goals, saves, fouls, and more. It also lets you see tweets with photos and videos only by choosing the photos-only view. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the new World Cup-ready version of Twitter is available now in the App Store for free. Just yesterday, Google updated the official Google Search app for iOS with new Google Now cards dedicated to the World Cup. And a few days go, FIFA itself updated FIFA Official App for iPhone and FIFA for iPad with more features for the tournament.
