Cydia tweak: QuickScope revamps search on Apple's iOS

August 4, 2014

QuickScope, a new jailbreak tweak, promises to revamp search on Apple’s mobile operating system. Offering integration with the Internet, social networks, movies, and the iOS in general, QuickScope can be downloaded and installed on the Cydia Store for $1.50.

Optimized for the iPhone only, QuickScope adds a search field to the top of the iOS multitasking interface (which, by default, can be revealed with a double-press of the Home button). In this field, users can input search terms and commands in order to perform a variety of actions on their iOS device.

For example, you can search for information on movies, you can send out Twitter or Facebook updates, you can contact friends (via the Phone app, Messages app, or WhatsApp), or you can apply a sticky note to the QuickScope interface.

Aspects of the Settings app are accessible from QuickScope, and users can also execute mathematical problems using the interface, too. Finally, the jailbreak tweak can seek-out nearby places of interest, and the package also features a dedicated app launcher.

QuickScope includes a selection of themes which users can toggle right from the search field itself, and the developer of the package promises compatibility with a selection of other popular jailbreak tweaks (like Auxo 2, for example).

You can download QuickScope for $1.50 on the Cydia Store, and as mentioned, it’s optimized for iOS 7-powered iPhone handsets only.
