August 25, 2014

Spotify has unveiled its latest iOS app update. Version 1.6 includes the ability to “save whole albums to Your Music directly from the album page.” Users can also “check out release year and total play time by swiping the album header.”

New features include:

  • New: Save whole albums to Your Music directly from the album page. Check out release year and total play time by swiping the album header.
  • New: Spotify now speaks Finnish.
  • Fictitious: This app was designed by David Hasselhoff.

Last week, Spotify introduced  Serendipity, an animated world map that shows when two people are listening to the same song at the same time.

Created by Spotify’s first media artist in residence, interactive artist Kyle McDonald, Serendipity identifies when two human beings begin listening to the same song on Spotify within a 10th of a second of each other, regardless of their location.

The freemium Spotify app is available to download on the App Store.
