Apple Store app update brings a revamped look and more

September 4, 2014

Just a few days before Apple’s big media event on Tuesday, Sept. 9, they have unveiled a major update to the Apple Store app.

The universal title for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini has received a number of improvements in version 3.0. The iPhone app features a revamped design. The “More” tab is gone and “Products” has been renamed to “Shop.”

With the “Stores” tab, users can find out about upcoming events and workshops at their nearest store location.

On the iPad version, users can now make One to One reservations.

The Apple Store app is free and can be downloaded now from the App Store.

Before today’s update, the last major revision to the app arrived late last year and brought support for iBeacon technology.

Apple is widely expected to unveil both the next-generation iPhone and its first wearable device at the media event next week.
