Here’s how to fix your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus if you updated to iOS 8.0.1

What’s worse than a bent iPhone? How about a broken one.

Earlier today, Apple released iOS 8.0.1 to the public. Unfortunately, the update seemed to cause some massive issues for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Along with breaking cellular connectivity, the update rendered Touch ID useless.

The good news is that Apple has pulled the update from the developer center and it can no longer be downloaded from your iOS device.

Thankfully, that makes it simple to restore your device back to working order.

Here’s a quick how-to, first offered by iMore.

1. Open iTunes. (Make sure you have the most recent version of the software installed.)
2. Connect your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to your computer with a Lightning-to-USB cable.
3. Select Restore.
4. Wait for iTunes to download and install the update on your device.
5. When you reboot, you’ll need to restore from your last iTunes or iCloud backup.
