Twitter for iPhone update brings revamped profiles, adds interactive notifications in iOS 8

September 18, 2014

Twitter’s official iOS app has just received an update, bringing some substantial changes to how profiles are displayed on the iPhone version.

The new profile pages focus on a user’s bio, tweets, and photos. It is also immediately available when you head on over to your profile page.

And with the official introduction of iOS 8, the app is taking advantage of the interactive notifications. From just a push notification, users will be able to retweet, favorite, follow a user, and more.

A universal app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Twitter can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

The improvements are only for the iPhone version of the app as the iPad layout is still in dire need of a revamp.

Twitter has recently introduced a feature to a small number of users that will allow them to purchase a product directly from a tweet in the app.
