My Phrases Keyboard for iOS 8 lets you send custom messages with a single tap

December 10, 2014

While texting and driving is obviously dangerous, many adults and teenagers still can’t resist sending a quick message from behind the wheel. But a new third-party keyboard for iOS 8 devices is looking to make that practice just a little safer.

As the name suggests, My Phrases Keyboard is a quick way to respond with a custom predefined message like “I’m driving now.” Along with text, users can even craft messages with emoji. Users can also arrange the layout of phrases on the keyboard itself.

Here’s a quick promo video about the app. Click here if you can’t see it.

Along with sending a quick text, the keyboard can also be used for entering often-used phrases like an email address.

A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, My Phrases Keyboard can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. With an in-app purchase of $1.99, users can unlock the ability to enter unlimited custom phrases.

The keyboard definitely sounds interesting, and it seems like a nice alternative to more powerful options like the wonderful TextExpander 3+ keyboard.
