Tastemade food and travel app updated with improved sharing, iOS 8 features and more

December 22, 2014

Tastemade, the global online community of food lovers and explorers, has updated its official iOS app with several new features of note.

The latest update to Tastemade for iOS brings two new features for video loops, another two for iOS 8, and yet another two for Tastemaker profiles. Sounds like a recipe for a nice Tastemade update indeed.

Short video loops were introduced to Tastemade late last October as a new and quicker way to discover restaurants. And now, they can be easily shared with friends for possible meetup plans via text, especially this holiday season. In addition, they can be shared directly to Vine and Instagram.

As mentioned, the latest update to Tastemade also adds a couple of new features for iOS 8. One is support for the app’s own Today widget, which provides local recommendations right within the Notification Center. And the other is support for interactive notifications, which can be swiped left to quickly add places to Must Go or Been There lists.

Finally, the app has been updated with Tastemaker levels (ranging from Explorer to Gastronom) and support for tweet-length (up to 140 characters) user bios.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.1 or later, but not yet optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Tastemade is available on the App Store for free.
