Apple posts 'Guided Tours' for its Watch, confirms in-store reservations

It seems, as we move closer to April 10 (that is, “Apple Watch Preorder Day”), that some of the finer details concerning Cupertino’s long anticipated smartwatch are finally being confirmed.

Now, Apple has noted online that in-store reservations for the Apple Watch are due to begin April 10, allowing customers to reserve a model for in-store pickup come launch day, on April 24. More significantly, however, Apple has also posted a selection of “Guided Tours” to its Watch website, providing prospective customers with a closer look at how the wearable might impact on their relationship with Apple’s iPhone.

At the minute, there are a total of four Guided Tours available to view: one general video (“Welcome to Apple Watch”), as well as three more specific videos for Messages, Faces, and Digital Touch. Plus, seven further videos (on Phone Calls, Siri, Maps, Music, Apple Pay, Activity, and Workout) are listed as “coming soon” at the same Web page.

Usefully, this indeed provides iPhone owners with a closer look at how the Apple Watch could take the place of our handset’s everyday uses. Though a lot of the Watch’s key features were demoed on-stage at Apple’s fall and spring events, these new videos aim to take users on a step-by-step tour of each of the smartwatch’s various features.

The news comes after Apple confirmed that preorders for the Watch will begin on April 10, at 12:01 a.m. (PDT). Following this, Apple indeed also noted that customers will be able to reserve an Apple Watch configuration for in-store pickup from April 10 onwards. You’ll be able to try the smartwatch on in-store beforehand, too.
