Flexibits has just released a major new update for Fantastical 2 for iPhone today, June 3, bringing it up to version 2.3 and it is now available on the Apple Watch. Move over, Calendar — Fantastical is here.

Ever since Fantastical first came out on the Mac several years ago, I’ve been a huge fan, even upgrading to the huge new Mac update without hesitation. I also have both versions of Fantastical 2 for iPhone and iPad (upgrading from the original iPhone version as well) and use all iterations of Fantastical as my main calendar. This is with good reason too: gorgeous design that makes it easy to navigate through your schedule, intuitive event creation with natural language input, interactive and powerful widget, Reminders integration, and more. I’ve tried other calendar apps, but I always return to Fantastical because it just works for me, and it just keeps getting better.

With Fantastical 2.3, you can have the power and simplicity of Fantastical right on your Apple Watch. The Watch app includes the ability to view events and reminders in a list format on your Watch screen. So now you can view your full agenda with the flick of your wrist. There is even a customizable glance that you can use to see your next upcoming event.

“The Apple Watch was designed to provide users with quick access to their info,” Michael Simmons, Co-founder of Flexibits, said. “We designed Fantastical 2 for Apple Watch to bring the friendly experience of Fantastical to our users’ wrists.”

Creating an event on the Apple Watch is just as easy on the iPhone version, perhaps even faster. Just do a long press (Force Touch) on the watch face while in the Fantastical app, and a button appears for a new event. Then dictate what you want your event to be, and you can preview it before saving it to your calendar. At the moment, only events can be created, but hopefully reminder support is added in the future.

We are big fans of Fantastical 2, so we are happy to finally have it on our Apple Watches as well. The Apple Watch update is available for free for existing users. Fantastical 2 for iPhone is available on the App Store for $4.99. There is also the separate iPad version for $9.99 and the Mac version for $39.99.
