Take control of your TV schedule with ShowTrack

ShowTrack, a new iOS app that launched on the App Store recently, promises to help iOS device owners take control of their TV schedule.

Optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch, and available for $1.99, ShowTrack can be downloaded now on the App Store. Once installed on your handset (and after folks have signed-up for a free account), the app prompts users to begin selecting their favorite TV shows. You might also be interested in discovering new shows – usefully, ShowTrack can provide users with an insight into what most iOS users are currently watching. It’s also possible to seek out TV shows by actors, too.

From here, ShowTrack will highlight next episodes of your favorite shows, you’ll be able to create and maintain a “watchlist,” and ratings and favorites can be selected from inside the application. After it’s figured out your taste, ShowTrack can also provide users with recommendations on new shows.

In the app’s release notes, developer Oliver Sundell explains:

ShowTrack is an app that is designed to change the way you manage your everyday TV-watching. With thoughtfully crafted and intuitive functions we assure that your TV watching will remain as just watching, ShowTrack takes care of all the rest.

No more questions like “What’s airing tonight?”, “What shows have I missed?” or “What should I watch next?”. ShowTrack takes care of all this for you and much more.

I’m really interested in taking ShowTrack for a spin. The application can also log statistics on users’ viewing, highlighting just how much time you’ve spent in front of the TV set and mapping patterns in your favorite shows. ShowTrack is also fully optimized for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which we’re pleased to see.

Of course, this isn’t the first TV tracker we’ve seen launch on iOS. Just yesterday, an article of ours introduced readers to PreviouslyOn: another iOS application for tracking your TV habits.

You can download ShowTrack on the App Store now, and as mentioned, it’s optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch.
