Incipio launches ClamCase Pro Gold for Apple's iPad Air 2

The Incipio-owned ClamCase, maker of several high-quality cases for Apple’s line of iPads, has a brand new accessory on offer. It’s designed to make the gold-colored iPad Air 2 look better than ever, while at the same time adding a pro-inspired physical keyboard for owners to take advantage of.

Called ClamCase Pro, this product features a hard shell case and an integrated Bluetooth keyboard, which closes around to protect the iPad from all angles. However, unlike the ClamCase Pro keyboards which are already available, this new product offers a gold color tone on the aluminum keyboard (whereas the older ClamCase Pro keyboards are silver aluminum).

There’s also a Space Gray-style black keyboard case available from ClamCase, too. As such, today’s news means there’s now a ClamCase Pro to suit each one of Apple’s iPad Airs. The price of the ClamCase Pro (even in gold) remains $149.99, and orders can be placed from the ClamCase online store.

As mentioned, ClamCase is indeed part of the ever-growing Incipio family. The accessory maker purchased ClamCase back in June, and has since been developing new ClamCase products. It seems the gold-colored Pro keyboard is one of the first Incipio-backed ClamCase products to hit the market.

The case can also fold back in order to support the iPad Air 2 in an upright position.

Our review of the ClamCase Pro was hugely positive, and as a reminder, our own Brent Dirks concluded:

If money is no object, the ClamCase Pro is the best keyboard case for the iPad Air, period. Other alternatives that we’ve reviewed, like the Ultimate Keyboard Case from Belkin or ZAGGKeys, offer some similar features for a lower price tag. But the ClamCase is the overall winner thanks to the spectacular, Apple-like typing experience and the quality construction. Despite a few minor flaws, it’s highly recommended and a must have for anyone who really wants to get work done on their iPad.

For anyone looking to add a keyboard to their iPad (without coughing up for a 12.9-inch iPad Pro), consider taking the ClamCase Pro for a spin. As noted, the all-new gold-colored ClamCase Pro can be purchased for $149.99.
