Most kids will tell you that learning math is about as far from fun as you can get. That’s where games come into play (pun intended), since they make the process more enjoyable. Monster Math 2 has recently arrived on the App Store, bringing math drills to your first through fifth grade children in a fun way.

Maxx to the rescue

Maxx’s best friend Dextra has been kidnapped by evil bosses, and he’s hopping mad about it. Your kids help Maxx rescue his buddies by solving math problems, which give Maxx candies he can spit at the evil minions that stand between him and heroism. Various math skills are tested within the app, all adhering to the Common Core standards for education.

Customized curriculum

If you know your child is struggling in a certain area, you can customize what sort of problems the game will throw at him or her. This lets you tailor the game to what the child really needs to work on, which is definitely nice for targeted learning opportunities.

Excellent reporting

For teachers and parents alike, Monster Math 2 provides a fantastic reporting screen. You can see what your learner is doing well in, what they’re struggling with, and what they haven’t started working on yet. You can also adjust the curriculum from this screen, sign up for weekly email updates on your child’s progress, or give the developers feedback.
