Rovio updates Angry Birds Seasons and Friends in time for Valentine's Day

Rovio is getting in the spirit of Valentine’s Day with new “lovely” content for not just one, but two of the titles in its wildly popular Angry Birds franchise of bird-flinging and pig-popping physics-based puzzle games.

‘Fairy Hogmother’

First up, there’s Angry Birds Seasons, which features different episodes that celebrate seasonal events, like the “Ski or Squeal” Advent calendar episode it got last holiday season.

Now, Angry Birds Seasons has gained a romantic new episode in time for Valentine’s Day. Titled “Fairy Hogmother,” the new episode invites you to turn the page and enjoy a new chapter full of levels inspired by classic fairy tales, including “Three Little Pigs,” “Rapigzel,” “Swinederella,” “Hamzel and Gretel,” and more. “Fairy Hogmother” includes 19 new fairy tale-themed levels plus Golden Egg and Bonus levels. And along with it come more content for Pig Days, which are special one-off levels that pay tribute to global events and holidays.

‘Heartbreaker Tournament’

In addition to Angry Birds Seasons, Rovio has also just delivered new Valentines’s Day-themed content to Angry Birds Friends, which, among others, includes themed competitions with special tournaments for seasonal events.

This time, Angry Birds Friends presents the “Heartbreaker Tournament,” a week-long competition that features lots of heart-shaped objects to be destroyed along with the bad piggies.

“It’s Valentine’s Day, and Angry Birds Friends has planned an entire week of romance!” Rovio notes. “It’s a new tournament with six new levels that you are simply going to love. However, love can be a fickle thing. This week, you’ll have to fling very carefully – break the crystal heart in each level and everything turns to stone!” Here’s a sneak peek:
