The BBC has recently announced that its global iPlayer iPad app will be available for the iPhone and iPod touch from this Thursday, December 8.

The BBC iPlayer global iPad app has recently received an update, which adds the ability to stream content played within the application to an Apple TV, via AirPlay!

The British Broadcasting Corporation has now launched BBC iPlayer in 11 countries across Europe, as expected. The service can be accessed for €6.99/month, or for a €49.99 annual fee. Furthermore, the BBC also released a "global" version of its BBC iPlayer iPad app, which can be downloaded in the App Store for free.

Great news, UK Apple fans: ITV has recently released a universal ITV Player application, which is currently available to download in the App Store for free. The app allows users to watch ITV shows on an iOS device, on-the-go, subscription-free.

This week, we've seen a lot - Apple released unlocked iPhone 4 handsets, a Facebook for iPad app is (probably) coming and - as per usual - another person is suing Apple.

BBC iPlayer is in the process of planning its international rollout, but don't get too excited - before the online service hits the USA, it's heading to western Europe, apparently by the end of this year.

It would appear that BBC iPlayer is about to go international, according to the already-available BBC News application.

The official BBC iPlayer iPad application is now available to download from the UK App Store, for free. BBC iPlayer allows users to catch up on the past week's TV and radio, as well as tune in to live TV. This can all be done within the app, providing you're connected to a Wi-Fi network.

The official BBC iPlayer iOS application will launch Thursday, according to a recent Twitter post by BBC Interactive Operations Engineer Geoff Marshall. As of this moment, we're not sure if the app will be global, or UK only.

The official BBC iPlayer iOS application is in its final stages of development, and may launch by the end of February.
