It looks like FaceTime over a 3G cellular data connection might be moving closer to reality.
According to a recent report, Apple and Verizon are currently at loggerheads regarding "FaceTime over 3G," a feature expected to launch in iOS 5. Apparently, while Apple wishes for the feature to be available to all iPhone owners, Verizon is insisting that the feature only be accessible to customers enrolled in a tiered data plan.
According to a recent report, Apple's fifth generation iPhone has reached its final, "AP" stage of testing, and should be available from September. Furthermore, the handset could allow users to make FaceTime calls over 3G - although Apple and Verizon have reportedly yet to reach a final agreement regarding this.
