TinyUmbrella has received an update that adds support for the recently released beta version of iOS 5.1. Though we would not recommend jailbreak fans updating to this version of the iOS (as there's currently no known means of downgrading, and no untethered jailbreak solution is available for iOS 5 or above), if you do decide to take iOS 5.1 beta for a spin on your iOS device, be sure to save your SHSH blobs first.
Well, that didn’t last long. Just days after our iOS Academy guru showed us how to make home screen shortcuts to the Settings app without jailbreaking, comes word Apple has killed the tweak in iOS 5.1 beta.
In Apple's recently released beta version of iOS 5.1, the company also makes reference to what is believed to be its sixth generation iPhone handset (the "iPhone 5"), alongside the third generation iPad and Apple TV.
Apple, moments ago, released iOS 5.1 beta to registered members of the iOS developer program.. The release, which is available now through Apple’s iOS Dev Center, is for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, and third and fourth-generation iPod touch devices. While the release notes don't list anything significant in iOS 5.1, it does include text that suggests a Sprint iPad 2 Wi + 3G model might be coming.
