Apple recently sent out a new build of OS X 10.8.2 to registered developers (build: 12C50), and one important change has been made to the Messages for Mac app in this forthcoming version of OS X. Now, the Mac application will be able to receive iMessages sent to a users' email address and phone number - a much needed, long overdue improvement.

Back in January, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced a new employee discount program. The new scheme would see Apple employees receive $500 off new Mac computers, and $250 off new iPads. Now, five months after the program was announced, Apple has launched the discount offerings which are available through the company's internal employee portal.

Though the thesis was originally embargoed due to its sensitive subject-matter, it is now available to view: in it, Schaap details Apple's experimentation regarding the company's OS X operating system, and its ARM processors - suggesting that at the time, Apple might have been considering launching an iPad powered by Mac OS X.
