In a number of Twitter updates which hit the Web earlier today, iPhone Dev-Team member @MuscleNerd confirmed that the upcoming version of redsn0w will make use of users' SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0+. The iPhone Dev-Team has recently updated redsn0w, adding support for Windows computers and fixing a GPS issue that occurred with certain iPhone 3GS handsets. Like the previous version of redsn0w (which is Mac only), this new version allows users to apply a tethered jailbreak to an iOS 5 device, and apply the software update to an iOS device while preserving its baseband.

Importantly, the recently updated redsn0w "explicitly supports" the seventh beta version of iOS 5 (as noted by @MuscleNerd), meaning users don't have to point the application at iOS 5 beta 6 when jailbreaking iOS 5 beta 7.

Great news, jailbreak fans: The latest beta version of iOS 5 (beta 3, which was released yesterday) can already be jailbroken using the iPhone Dev-Team's redsn0w. While a previous version of the app didn't quite work, the Dev-Team updated redsn0w (0.9.8b2) and the jailbreak now works perfectly.
