Allegory is a Powerful and Well-Designed Notes App for iOS 13

September 20, 2019

There are a number of great note-taking apps on available on the App Store for both the iPhone and iPad. But the new app Allegory easily stands up to the stiff competition.

Making Note-Taking Easy

Designed specifically for iOS 13, which officially arrived yesterday, the app is perfect for everything from power users to casual note-takers.

Launching the app will automatically launch the note editor screen, making it easy to get started. Advanced users can also create notes with markdown and custom markdown for Allegory.

To help organize your thoughts, you can set due dates or bookmark any note from anywhere in the app. A notification will remind you of specific due dates. To find a specific note, you can search for words, dates, or natural language like “last week.”

If you’d rather sketch an idea, there is a drawing area with a number of different colors and tools. On the iPad, you can even use an Apple Pencil.

On the Apple Watch, you can also view your notes, or even add one with dictation using the companion app. You can also use the app’s complications for a watchface.

I’ve been trying out Allegory for almost a month, and have come away extremely pleased with the overall experience. It’s well designed and easy to use. For a quick note, or something longer, it’s tough to beat.

Allegory is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

An Allegory Pro subscription can be unlocked for $1.99 per month or $16.99 per year. That unlocks a number of additional features including document scanning, document export, unlimited note creation, Face ID or Touch ID support, and more.
