Apple has just expanded the universal search capability of its set-top box with added support for a new app and a handful of new countries.

Universal search using Siri is featured in an Apple TV ad starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau of “Game of Thrones” and Alison Brie of “Community.”

In the U.S., where it supports a variety of apps in addition to iTunes, Apple TV universal search now works with The CW. Launched just last week, The CW for Apple TV is noted for not requiring a cable subscription or login to watch full episodes of shows including “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Supergirl,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” and more.

Apple TV universal search now also works for iTunes and Netflix in five new countries: Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden. And in Australia, it now works with ABC iview and Plus7 in addition to iTunes, Netflix, and Stan.

Unfortunately, the feature remains limited to iTunes and Netflix in Canada, France, Germany, and the U.K., and to iTunes movies only in other countries and regions.
