Crazy Kings takes tower defense and adds a collectible card game twist
You don’t need to look far to find a tower defense game on the App Store. There’s definitely something for every taste available to download. But Wooga’s Crazy Kings does a great job bringing a new take to the classic genre.
While the game took obvious inspiration from the hugely popular Kingdom Rush series, it adds a fun dose of collectible card gaming.
With the cards, you can help build towers and improve your battle deck from run-of-the-mill defenses to things like giant fire-breathing dragons.
And the game recently received a nice update moving to version 1.11. Most notably, players can now take advantage of a number of new lava levels and enemies.
Familiar gameplay
Anyone who has battled in a tower defense game, especially the Kingdom Rush series, should feel right at home in Crazy Kings. You’ll need to build towers and defend against the Minotaur army and dozens of different types of enemies.
A card play twist
You’ll need to build the different types of towers using the different types of cards. New cards can be used to create better defenses.
A hero can save us
With each win, you can use new items to build-up the hero and make them even better.

Crazy Kings is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. As usual with this type of game, there are a number of in-app purchases available to snag extra cards and other enhancements.
If you’re looking for a fun twist on the usual tower defense game, definitely give Crazy Kings a try. While the tower defense strategy should be obvious to pretty much any iOS gamer, adding cards to the mix definitely spices up game play and adds another level of difficulty.
