Many have wondered for a while why Virgin America did not have a mobile app. For booking flights, checking status, and receiving alerts, it makes perfect sense, right? Well, if you were one of those Virgin America flyers waiting and hoping, then today is your lucky day. The company has provided a look at their new mobile app, which is currently in beta and expected to launch later this summer. Not only that, but the app will include Spotify integration for a uniquely groovy flying experience.

Expected app features including flight booking, a check in process, access to your boarding pass, flight alerts, and the ability to view your Elevate points balance. The app will also offer storage of your personal information, including your favorite destinations, in order to provide customized flight deals.

The integration with Spotify will allow you to listen to awesome playlists based on your destination. How cool is that? According to the Virgin America blog:

Virgin America has always been about more than just getting you from Point A to B. So, we’re furthering our relationship with Spotify for a first-of-its kind trip soundtrack mobile feature on an airline app. Guests can get inspired for their trip by streaming one of the city “Mood Lists” via Spotify. Simply click the Spotify button after you check-in to hear some tunes that will put you in a state-of-mind inspired by your destination.
