Pokémon GO Developer Niantic Releases New AR Game Pikmin Bloom
The developer behind the huge hit Pokémon GO, Niantic, has begun rolling out a new AR game in conjunction with Nintendo.
Pikmin Bloom is looking to make your daily walks more enjoyable with a squad of unique creatures.
If you’ve never seen the popular Nintendo series, Pikmin are small plant-like creatures that can’t be seen with the naked eye. With the game, you can see and interact with them.
Pikmin grow from seedlings and once they grow big enough, they can follow you around. The more you walk, the more Pikmin will join you. There are seven different types of Pikmin, each with their own characteristics.
You can even collect flower petals from a Pikmin’s head and plant them to leave a trail of beautiful flowers.
At the end of each day, you can view the numbers of steps taken and routes walked. You can also add notes and photos.
The game will soon offer a monthly Community Day even where you can walk, plant, and play with others.
Pikmin Bloom is for the iPhone and all iPad models and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. There are a number of in-app purchases available.
