PS4 Remote Play Brings PlayStation 4 to iOS Devices

March 8, 2019

While there have been a number of unofficial apps to access and play your PlayStation 4 on iOS devices, Sony has finally released its official PS4 Remote Play app on the App Store.

You’ll need iOS 12.1 or later with an iPhone 7 or later, second-generation iPad Pro or later, or sixth-generation iPad.

The PlayStation 4 needs the latest system software installed. You’ll also need a PlayStation Network account.

Gamers need to have a Wi-Fi connection to use the app.

Along with being able to display the PS4 screen on your iPhone or iPad, there is an on-screen controller available. You can also join voice chats with the microphone.

Unfortunately, a Dualshock 4 controller can’t be used with the app, but a number of users are reporting that MFi controllers are compatible.

PS4 Remote Play is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
