The latest news on the “iPhone 7”

Apple is expected to announce the next iPhone on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Here’s what we learned about the new handset this week:

Dummy: The removal of the headphone jack on the “iPhone 7” led many to believe that the new handset would include dual speakers. A newly released schematic suggests otherwise. Instead, the additional holes may be “purely cosmetic.”

Black or blue: With the iPhone 7, Apple is expected to add a new color to the mix. This week, it looked like that new color could be space black. Earlier rumors had suggested that Apple was launching a dark or light blue model.

Apple’s health plans for 2017 taking shape

A new report says that Cupertino could be planning on bringing a brand new “revolutionary” product to the market, which would allow customers to monitor their health like never before. This product would measure heart rate, pulse, blood sugar, and more.

According to the Economic Daily News, the unnamed product will “accurately collect users’ personal daily life including heart rate, pulse, blood sugar changes, and other information.”

The next Apple Watch set for release

The second-generation Apple Watch is expected to be announced in September. The new wearable device is likely to offer a superior processor and better waterproofing. It could also include GPS, a barometer, and a bigger battery.

At the same time, Apple could unveil a slightly improved first-generation Apple Watch, the so-called Apple Watch S.
