Dungeon of Legends ($2.99) by BBG Entertainment GmbH is a game that challenges you to try to get accepted into a magic school.
To show that you have what it takes to become a magician, you have to make your way through the magic tower. The tower contains over 75 rooms, each with various traps and monsters that have to be avoided.
To navigate your way through the rooms, you can only move and jump. You usually have to push a few levers or find a few keys before you can make it to the next room.
Solving the puzzle is only one part of the task. The real challenge is mastering the controls. Precise movements can be tricky, so you might end up bumping into things or falling off your platform by accident.
Every time you fail a level, you have to start again right from the beginning. It can be frustrating, because you’ll frequently get close to the end, before making a mistake and having to start again.
Doing well in this game is all about timing your moves perfectly. If you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, you’re going to end up in a bad situation. You have to wait for the moving parts in the rooms to get to their ideal positions, before you try to get around them. This means that you do frequently end up waiting around for a few seconds at a time. If you’re not vary patient, this isn’t a game you’ll enjoy.
If you don’t get frustrated and give up, the gameplay can be enjoyable. Because of the number of levels and how long it takes to complete them, this app does provide hours worth of gameplay.
The graphics and background music do a great job of making Dungeon of Legends feel spooky.
If you’re happy to continue playing, even when you’re constantly repeating levels, you’ll like this game. My main complaint is about the controls and how tricky they can be to master.
You can get Dungeon of Legends for both the iPhone and iPad for $2.99 in the App Store.
