Travel to Isla Dorada To Unlock The Secrets Of The Mysterious Island

May 15, 2013

Isla Dorada - Episode 1: The Sands of Ephranis (Free) by G5 Entertainment is the latest release from the company that has turned the App Store into a garden of hidden objects games. This universal title brings you to a mysterious island where the locals are friendlier than they should be and treasures can be found in the strangest places.

Players are transported to Isla Dorada after discovering a magical golden mask. Although it is supposed to be your first time on this mysterious island, the villagers seem to know you.

Test your skills on 32 hidden object scenes that offer special items that can be used in the future. The goal is to find all of the pieces to the broken golden mask. There are also mini games, like putting together puzzle pieces.

You will be taken on a tropical adventure where you will meet interesting characters, explore the island, and find a way home. Search across different areas of the island to discover additional pieces to the broken mask. As you wander around, you will be shown hints in the form of sparkles around areas that you should inspect closer.

This game is more lighthearted and adventurous than recent releases from G5 Entertainment. It features bright colors and intriguing characters. The hidden objects scenes offer well-designed graphics with just the right amount of clutter. The items are difficult to find without being overly challenging.

I found this game to be a refreshing change from hidden objects titles I’ve played in the past. While I love the horror and detective mystery genre, I appreciated that this game was mysterious without being dark. It felt more like a Disney adventure than anything else.

The mini games are very simple. They usually involve putting together torn or broken pieces of something like a puzzle game. Although, some require you to use items you have collected from hidden objects scenes throughout the game.

Fans of hidden objects games that consider themselves to be particularly adept will find this game to be a bit too easy. The game offers up hints too fast. If there is an item that should be inspected closer, it is already sparkling by the time you get to it. I’d like to see the ability to adjust the difficulty level.

Overall, this is a fun and entertaining hidden objects game. It is lighthearted and easy to complete. It is a great game for those just entering the genre. Fans who consider themselves skilled at hidden objects games may find this one too easy. The first few puzzles are free to play and you can unlock the entire game for $4.99, which is a reasonable price for games in the genre, but a bit steep for this particular title. Download it for free to see if you like it. Just be aware that it doesn’t get harder to play as the game goes on.
