Amber Room Escape (Free) by Coolbuddy.com is an escape game that begins with a rather creepy scenario. You start the game with your hands bound. You’re barefoot, and your clothes have seen better days. You have no idea where you are or how you got there. Your only thought is of escaping your strange prison.
Like many other escape games, you make a break for it by solving a variety of puzzles that are scattered throughout the room. Some of these puzzles include finding the combination to a safe, playing a strange game of chess with only three pieces, and figuring out computer commands.
As soon as the game begins, a timer in the lower left corner keeps track of how long it takes you to figure out how to get out of the room. I’m not particularly brilliant when it comes to these games, despite how much I love them. I completed it in about 10 minutes. That should be a good indication that this isn’t a game you’ll be spending hours trying to figure out.
If you should happen to get stuck, you can purchase a walkthrough. The walkthrough costs $1.99. I’m cheap enough that I would rather spend weeks trying to figure out this game rather than spend money for a walkthrough. However, I did a little bit of research on the Internet and found a walkthrough for free right here. I can’t stand it when people charge for walkthroughs. So, enjoy the freebie.
Aside from asking players to buy a walkthrough, this game was still fun to play. I enjoy games that I can take my time figuring out, but I want to make sure that I won’t get stuck trying to solve a puzzle for days. The free walkthrough solves that problem. However, I actually didn’t need it. So, I’m sure plenty of you will be able to figure the game out on your own.
