The 2014 Art Beijing Art Fair will be held at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center in Beijing from May 1, 2014, to May 3, 2014 — following a private VIP viewing on April 30, 2014. The fair will be held at the center’s Contemporary Pavilion (New Pavilion) and Classic Pavilion (No. 3 Pavilion), creating a combined exhibition area of nearly 20,000 sqm.

Approximately 150 art galleries and art institutions from all over the world will come together for the 2014 fair, 30% of which will be from Hong Kong, Taiwan and abroad. At the Contemporary Pavilion, leading art galleries from home and abroad will participate in the exhibition, including ShanghART Gallery, Galleria Continua, Tang Contemporary Art, Beijing Commune, Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Eslite Gallery, Lin & Lin Gallery, Asia Art Center, Hwa's Gallery, GalerieDumonteil, Longmen Art Projects, Chambers Fine Art, ELMS LESTERS PAINTING ROOMS, Platform China Contemporary Art Institution, Star Gallery, and Linda Gallery. Many galleries exhibiting at Art Beijing for the first time will infuse this year’s fair with fresh vitality, including Whitestone Gallery, Art Seasons Gallery, PYO Gallery, Tokyo Gallery+BTAP, Caves Art Center, The Spectacle Group, Guan Xiang Art Gallery, and Antenna Space.

The fair’s Fine Art exhibition will move to the center’s Russian-style No. 3 Pavilion, which boasts an exhibition area of more than 3,000 sqm. Here, many galleries 30 will exhibit Western classical oil painting, European antique furniture, classic sculpture, Russian oil painting, Chinese painting and calligraphy, porcelain miscellaneous, jewelry, and copper sculpture art. Galleries participating in the Classical Art exhibition include Toulouse Antique Gallery, Gu Feng Tang, Classic·Jen Gallery, L’Art de Marcillac, GalerieSimardBilodeau, Jingxian Fine Arts, Mugu Gallery, and Lin Long Fang.

Apart from the regular gallery exhibition areas, the Contemporary Pavilion and Classic Pavilion will also hold 12 academic exhibitions on special subjects concerning contemporary art, traditional Chinese ink painting, Chinese folk art, and design products. Beijing Poly International Auction Co., Ltd., Beijing Council International Auction Co., Ltd., and Beijing A&F International Auction Co., Ltd. will also hold private viewing auctions of top-quality art at the fair site. In addition, four non-profit institutions — the French Embassy in China (Croisements Festival 2014), Embassy of Israel in China, Mexican Embassy in China, and Instituto Cervantes de Pekin — will also hold Art Platform activities to further enrich the 2014 Art Beijing experience for visitors.

The 2014 Art Beijing Fair will cooperate with multiple professional media and art institutions to hold a series of informative Education Forums at the fair. Here, artists, exhibition planners, collectors, commenters, designers, senior artistic and financial advisers, and other professionals will discuss key topics of interest, including the art market, contemporary Chinese ink painting, art collection, fine arts education, and crossover design. The Education Forums will help audiences better understand the current issues in the art world and grasp the development trends that will drive tomorrow’s art market.

At the 2014 fair, the Art Beijing Academic Committee will also continue with Art Beijing’s PARK—2014 Art Beijing ART ZONE exhibition, promoting public art projects outside the Fair Pavilion. The exhibition will integrate sculpture, installation, video, and lighting into the public environment, bringing the broader public closer to art and raising greater awareness for the joys of art appreciation. This outdoor public art project will be further expanded on the basis of the project last year. The 2014 Art Beijing Fair will display many works of leading domestic and international artists and set a new benchmark for Art Beijing.
