App Store Description

Bringing you:
- A comprehensive database of US Peaks
- A way to log your hikes and record your climbs
- Draw your own trails

The hiker's and backpacker's delight, Climb Higher will bring you to your next climax. Track your hikes, record peaks and summits, and design your own trails! Your hikes and trails can be shared with friends and family via email, and exciting photos and highpoints can be shared on Facebook.

Climb Higher is subscription free, with a one time purchase price! Here is what you get for one low price:

A comprehensive database of US Peaks
---------------------------------------
Search near your location, find the highest point in your state or county, get directions to your next climb... Climb Higher aims to help you, well, climb higher... A peak in Climb Higher is any point in the US that is defined by the USGS as a Summit in the GNIS database.

Although the initial database is US peaks, the app will work around the world to help you track hikes and climbs, and you can always add new peaks anywhere you can click on the map! Over 60,000 peaks included in US.

Works without a network connection
------------------------------------
Before going off grid, you can download map tiles from Mapbox after a long press on the area of the map you will be traveling in. After you download the tiles, Climb Higher should provide you with tracking ability on and off network for that area, in the event you lose cell service.

Log your hikes
--------------
Climb Higher can be used to log your hikes, runs, bike rides and any motion based activity. Just click the green hike button and start moving! Climb Higher will continue to track your motion until you click the hiker again, even in the background or in your pocket! Uses GPS for tracking your location. Remember to download tiles if you think you might lose cell connection!

Record your climbs
-------------------
Just click on a mountain on the screen and you can either add your climb or get directions. When you summit, you can use the app to mark the date and altitude reached! The app also tracks how many times you reach your peak!

Make your own trails
--------------------
Add a new trail by drawing on a map. Open the Trail Editor and start editing. Add waypoints and points of interest as you draw your map. Share your trails with other Climb Higher users.

Easily search the peak database
-------------------------------
Easy to use search functions that will find nearby peaks by distance or a more comprehensive search that can be used to search by Name, Peak Elevation, State or County. When searching by location, or by using filters, the county or state boundaries will be displayed to help you see your results.

Add parking spots to your trails and hikes
----------------------------------------
One thing about most trail maps is the lack of detail on where to park (unless the trail head is in a state or national park). You can define and share parking areas when you edit your hikes or trails, and you can share them with your friends.

Sharing
-------
Climb Higher is all about the experience and sharing with your hiking circle. Limited at this time to email and Facebook, the Climb Higher team is working on more ways to share your hikes. Look for a more complete sharing package soon.

Climb Higher is an application designed to entertain and assist in planning your next trip into the wild.

Although GPS is an excellent source of location almost anywhere in the USA, remember that batteries don't last forever!

Always have a backup plan in case your phone is lost or damaged. A compass and map are essential whenever you hike too far into the wild...
