A user using DeepWaste can simply point their phone camera to any waste item that they are about to dispose of and get accurate feedback within milliseconds. A user can also choose existing photos of waste items within their camera roll to classify. DeepWaste is designed to perform best within the regional municipality rules of San Mateo County. However, users from anywhere can help improve the accuracy of DeepWaste by growing the database using the app. In the near future, with more images, we aim to extend DeepWaste to include more municipalities across the world.
