Dermofit is a digital tool built to train non-specialist medical professionals to accurately identify malignant and benign skin lesions and skin growths at an earlier stage.
Featuring a research-based, expert image library of over 1,000 skin lesions Dermofit helps teach practitioners to identify different skin lesions more effectively.
The App uses an intuitive algorithm which automatically groups library photos of skin lesions based on their colour and texture properties. The four modules within the App allow users to explore and understand the differences between skin lesion classes and begin to more accurately identify specific lesions.
Dermofit is an innovative training and reference tool used by professionals from across the medical community including: GPs, clinic nurses, dermatology specialist nurses, and medical students.
This tool has a strong evidence-base, and is the result of four years development by researchers at the University of Edinburgh.
