What is a dibit?
When you buy a dibit, you are reserving access to whatever the dibit is on. This hold is valid until the dibit expires. A dibit on a ticket for a show, for example, would guarantee the holder of the dibit access to the ticket at face value - even if the ticket was sold out or priced much higher everywhere else. After a dibit expires, it cannot be used for anything.

Some dibits are contingent. They only come into play if a certain condition is met. For example, we list dibits on tickets to the College Football Playoff National Championship. These dibits are team-specific and only come into play if the team that the dibit is on is playing in the National Championship.

Other dibits are non-contingent and always remain valid until they expire. Most dibits to shows or live events work on a non-contingent basis.
