MEET PEOPLE WHO SHARE YOUR INTERESTS
GroupThing can be used for making friends, dating and networking. Swipe through profiles or your content feed to discover new people. You can filter your search based on active communities, distance, age and more.

JOIN COMMUNITIES
Communities are the groups that you join to post about your interests, whether you want to talk about your favourite celebrity, share highlights of your sports team, or trade travel tips, you can find a place for your interests on GroupThing.

FIND PEOPLE WITH ANY INTEREST
On GroupThing you’re able to customize your search by communities or tags. If your desired community does not exist, build it and create a new home for like-minded people.

PROFILES WITH SUBSTANCE
Profiles on GroupThing are built with shared interests in mind. A profile will include a person’s photos, interests (through active communities and tags), and their most popular posts.

EXPRESS YOURSELF
Create or join communities to post about the things that you care about.

CHAT, DISCUSS, EXPLORE
Comment on somebody’s post to start a discussion, or click into their profile and send a connection request to message them directly. The more engaging your content, the more likely you are to connect with others who share your interests.

SCROLL THROUGH A CUSTOMISED FEED
Customise your feed by joining communities that you’re passionate about. Post content in relevant communities to be seen on the feeds of others.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:

BRINGING THE HUMANITY BACK TO SOCIAL MEDIA
All gestures, motions and actions in the GroupThing app take into account the humanity of those using it. You don’t swipe people away as though you’re throwing them in the trash, or reject profiles on the spot. In real life situations, you don’t determine a person’s worth in a moment’s glance. When looking through profiles on GroupThing, you have the time to look at profiles, with the option to go back and see those you have previously viewed – you aren’t rushed into making judgements. Likewise, connection requests that don’t resonate with your interests can simply be archived. At any point in time, you can scroll or search through your archive and reconsider.

BUILT WITH PRIVACY IN MIND
User profiles showcase minimal personal information and provide options to adjust visibility settings. Additionally, only you can see your entire post and comment history.

Note: Connections require both parties to consent.

MELBOURNE-BASED START UP
GroupThing was created in Melbourne with the priority of helping people create meaningful connections nearby.
