App Store Description

Based around the award winning He Tohu exhibition, the He Tohu VR allows you to get up close and personal with the 1835 He Whakaputanga - the Declaration of Independence of the United Tribes of New Zealand, 1840 Te Tiriti o Waitangi - The Treaty of Waitangi, and the 1893 Women's Suffrage Petition - Te Petihana Whakamana Pōti Wahine.

Immerse yourself in He Whakapapa Kōrero - the document room, listen to the stories of each document in English or Te Reo Māori, and for the first time ever, explore the documents in high-definition directly from your smartphone.

For those visiting the exhibition in Wellington, He Tohu VR also has an audio guide for use in the document room. Just plug in your headphones, select a document, and listen as He Tohu VR gives you an insight into the documents history.

He Tohu is presented by Archives New Zealand and the National Library, both of which are part of the Department of Internal Affairs. He Tohu has been developed in partnership between the Crown and Māori.
