Lightcatch is the best way for a community to get information together for the police in the world today. It's safe, anonymous and very effective.

In 2018, a test run of the system in Grande Prairie, Alberta area met with huge success. Thousands got involved, and together they helped recover over $1.2 million of stolen goods - including 33 stolen vehicles, and priceless items like a father’s ashes. Since then we've received dozens of great testimonials and thank you's from people who have seen the service make a difference in their communities across western Canada.

What is Lightcatch?

Lightcatch is a safe, secure crowdsource reporting tool. Whenever someone witnesses something suspicious or a crime they can upload video, photos and a description of the event without revealing their identity. Everyone nearby with the app is instantly notified and can see how close they are to the post on a map screen. Together they can build a real time trail of seen locations as well as any other helpful information that can be sent to the police.

Like cockroaches when the lights are turned on, criminals run for it when they know their crimes might be posted online or the police might arrive any moment. With the app, everyone with a mobile phone can help show law enforcement a suspect’s exact location, so they can act with precision and speed.

The more friends, neighbors, and coworkers that have the app, the better your protection becomes. We've seen dramatic decreases in crime, because perpetrators don't want their actions posted online for everyone to see.
