Momento is a private journaling app that has a slick interface and is pretty easy to use. While you get the basic journaling tools like new entry creation, tags, and photos, Momento does more than some of the competition. You can pull in data from your social network feeds like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Swarm, and more. There is even support for videos in entries, which can be a big deal for some. Everything is neatly organized and there is iCloud syncing so your memories are completely private and not stored on a third-party syncing service.

Everything in your timeline. Memento is a journaling app that can do it all. Since the app is able to pull in your posts from social media feeds like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Swarm, and more, you may end up with a lot of things in your journal. Fortunately, Momento takes care of that. While the initial load of all of your feeds may take some time, everything is automatically organized and sorted. Every bit of data that comes in will be sorted chronologically, and images will even appear in the timeline feed. When you view a particular day, you'll see everything that happened on that day, such as tweets and Facebook updates, as well as any images you may have shared on Instagram. If you add a regular Momento entry on a day with many social feeds, don't worry about it — that normal entry appears larger and more dominant, as a way to "highlight" it so you don't get confused by the other stuff. It's simple, intuitive, and an amazing way to look back on things that happen in your life.

New entry creation. As we all go about our daily lives, there may be a lot of things happening at once, so it's important to capture those events as they happen. It doesn't even have to be big events — just anything that makes you smile, or even bad times that make you reflect on yourself. Adding new entries in Momento is easy and a tap away. Just write in what you want to say, add some photos and even video (a much better way to relive memories), add a place, organize by tags, and save your entry so it shows up in your timeline. Momento makes it easy to quickly capture and move on with your life so you can be ready for the next awesome thing to capture.

Import your social feeds. In today's day and age, we are all online a lot, especially on social media. We have friends on many networks and we talk to them through posts, photos, and updates. Fortunately, with Momento, all of these can be captured to your journal as well, so you never forget about those awesome updates or conversations. Just connect your Facebook, Twitter, Swarm, Instagram, Moves, and even Uber for rides and you'll be able to look back on all of your updates for better or for worse. No matter how dumb they are, they're still a part of your life. And hey, Momento is completely private so no one has to know about your embarrassing things except you. Unless you never deleted it from Facebook, but that's a whole other story.

What is it about?

Momento is another popular journaling app that is capable of a bit more than some of the competition. While it has the basics like new text and photo entry creation with the ability to add tags and places, automatically get date and time and geolocation data from photos for the entry date, it can do more. A big difference between Momento and Day One is the fact that Momento even has support for videos, which can be a big deal to many people — videos are a much more powerful form of media that helps you relive memories, after all. There is also automatic support for social media feeds built-in to Momento, rather than going through a third-party service like IFTTT. Plus there is iCloud syncing so you don't have to worry about a third-party syncing service, where your data is stored on someone's server. However, while Momento has many more features that can be useful for people, be warned that the initial load for your connected feed data can take a while and the scrolling is not as smooth. Still, Momento is an app to consider for those who want to make sure to capture every little detail of their lives.

Momento Premium and Momento Premium Gold is an auto-renewing subscription. Momento will automatically charge your iTunes Account at the end of your subscription or free trial period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of your current period. You can turn off auto-renew at any time and still receive full functionality until the end of your current period, but no refunds can be provided for unused portions of the subscription. Subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal can be turned off by going to Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if any subscription in Momento is otherwise purchased. Subscriptions cannot be shared using Family Sharing.
